Sibley Bike Depot - Youth Ride, Square Lake Festival, and Junior Mechanic Program

Hi all!

This Saturday, July 12th, we will be coordinating a youth ride from the Sibley Bike Depot to the Science Museum and back. The ride will leave Sibley at 2pm, and the Science Museum will provide free passes! Check out the attached flyer, and contact Kevin at kevinkalla@gmail.com to sign up.

Speaking of bike related youth programs, we are also currently accepting applications for our next round of Junior Mechanic classes! The Sibley Bike Depot Junior Mechanic Program is a four-session class for youth ages 12-18. Our next session will take place July 29th, August 5th, 12th, and 9th from 4-6pm. Over the course of the program, each participant will receive a bike and learn how to fix it up! Come into the shop or e-mail kevinkalla@gmail.com for an application.

And finally, join Sibley Bike Depot and bikers from around the Twin Cities as we ride the Gateway Trail out to the Square Lake Music and Film Festival for a weekend of music, film, camping, and biking. Registration is only $5 if you bike! Check out http://www.solsticefestival.org/bike. This ride, co-sponsored by the Hub Bike Coop, is a no-drop ride - no one will be left behind en route. The ride is about 30 miles each way - make sure to bring your bike into Sibley during Open Shop hours beforehand to make sure it is seaworthy for the trip! Riders will gather at 10:30am Saturday, August 16 at Sibley Bike Depot, returning to St. Paul early in the afternoon on Sunday. Questions? Contact Jason at jtanzman@riseup.net .
