Ride It Like You Built It

Thanks to everyone for their continued support at Sibley Bike Depot! This summer has been a period of substantial growth for our organization. Every hour of Open Shop at Sibley is vibrant and energetic, filled with kids from the neighborhood fixing up their bikes, volunteers helping fix up shop bikes, and people stopping in just to check out our space. Mid-way through the year, we have already surpassed our total bike sales from last year (which funds nearly all of our programs and staff). We have donated over 150 bicycles this year with many more events and projects still to come.

This Saturday, July 12th, we will be coordinating a youth ride from the Sibley Bike Depot to the Science Museum and back. The ride will leave Sibley at 2pm, and the Science Museum will provide free passes! Check out the attached flyer, and contact Kevin at kevinkalla@gmail.com to sign up.

Dear Sibley bike lovers,

We at the Depot want to thank you for all of the time and support you have given us. Last week, there was fantastic turn-out for our shop reorganization day. To recognize all of those who have volunteered with us and supported us in a variety of ways, we'd like to invite you to a Volunteer Appreciation Night. Tomorrow - Wednesday June 11th from 6-9pm - we invite you to stop by the shop and hang out with us. There will be food, door prizes, an update on how Sibley is doing, and we'll even be showing a movie!

Lend us a hand as we build bike stands, create a new storage system for our tires, and reorganize our open shop to allow even more people to work on their bikes. Spring is finally here!! Or so it seems at least, and
the Sibley Bike Depot is well on its way to an exciting and active year. Thanks for all your continued support with volunteer time, bicycle donations, and everything else you do to make this organization thrive.

Hi Sibley Volunteers and Bike Enthusiasts!

Spring is finally here, which is a really exciting time for
us in our new shop! We are already selling bikes faster than we can fix them up, and each Open Shop day brings new volunteers with lots of energy and enthusiasm. With more nice days, combined with rising gas prices (and an increasing understanding that we must fight global warming NOW), we are expecting our organization to continue to grow and thrive!

In preparation for an exciting an active spring, Sibley is currently hiring two part time positions! The Volunteer Coordinator and Bike Mechanic will work closely with Board members to fulfill the tasks outlined in detail below. Submit a resume and cover letter to Board@bikeped.org to apply.  Wages will be $10-12/hr depending on experience.
