Sibley is excited to offer a complete series of classes this Summer
and Fall. In August, we will be offering two different sessions of
Basic Bike Maintenance; one session is on Monday evenings from 6:30-9pm
(August 4-25) and a second session will be on Thursday evenings, also
6:30-9pm (August 7-28).
The class is designed as a full introduction to the basics of fixing
and maintaining your bicycle. The classes are FREE! Donations are
accepted and encouraged to support our continued committment to
community education. Register by emailing Classes@bikeped.org, please specify which session you would like to register for (Monday session currently needs participants).
In addition, Sibley will be offering a second Wheel Building class
of the summer. Dates as of yet To Be Determined - most likely
September 11-18 (Thursday evenings 6:30-9pm). $20 parts/materials fee
- waved if you purchase or bring materials to build your own wheel.
Email Classes@bikeped.org with interest.
In addition to our classes, volunteering with us is one of the best ways to learn about fixing bikes. Come wrench on shop bikes to better help you understand how your own bike works. It is our goal to help you repair your own bicycle during our shop hours, but as we only have one paid staff member, we cannot always spend as much time as we would like helping each person fix their own bike. Please, please let us know if you are interested in becoming a regular volunteer and we will set time aside to give you the education that you need so that others may be educated as well!
